Embedded, therefore precious
The addition of a new commercial structure in an already existing and defined context requires adaptation to what is already there (in terms of materials, shapes, etc.), if it is realized with traditional building techniques. It becomes instead a pleasant creative experience if you rely on steel and the modernity of building solutions connected to it. Menon has created this commercial building, perfectly set in its surrounding urban space, with a supporting steel structure featuring a joint intermediate attic. The main truss is also made of steel, with a secondary sequence of beams covered in laminated wood. The ventilated roof and insulated infill panels featuring an interior plasterboard cover which is coated and painted on the outside, have been completed with flame-cut aluminum frames and double glazing.
